Ramesh Aundhkar: Artist Biography
Personal Background: I am Ramesh Aundhkar, an artist from Mumbai. My father was also an artist, which greatly influenced my early interest in art. My initial training was at KalaVishwa Mahavidyalaya in Sangli, and I completed my final and postgraduate studies at Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. I am a Gold Medalist and Fellow of this prestigious institution, the first-ever art school in Asia.
Artistic Journey: I paint in various mediums, including acrylics, oils, pastels, inks, and watercolors, on canvas, board, and paper. My artistic expression spans both abstract and figurative methods. I have assisted Prafulla Dahanukar with her many murals in Mumbai and worked with several esteemed institutions, including the Weavers’ Service Centre, National Vocational Institute, and Symbiosis Institute of Design in Pune. I have also contributed as an art columnist for Loksatta Marathi daily and Lokprabha Marathi weekly, writing numerous articles on artists for Marathi annuals.
Exhibitions and Recognitions: I have held many solo and group exhibitions, participating in prestigious shows and earning numerous awards, honors, and recognitions. My work has been praised by leading art critics from the Times of India and Hindustan Times. My paintings are in many private collections, including those of Wipro Group (Azim Premji), Salgaonkar Group, and Skypack, as well as public collections in India and abroad.

Innovative Art Style: My unique “Kaleidoscopic Art” style features a revolutionary way of composition, incorporating four different topics in a single frame without dividing the space vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Viewers must change the position of the artwork to notice the change in content, similar to a kaleidoscope.
